Where Dwells the Enemy?

An excellent article on the world's enemy. Yes, it is the Bush Crime Family and the republiscum party.

Here is a excerpt from the Vision 2020 site that should raise everyone's hackles (at least the half of us who are informed).

"Vision 2020" has just been updated in recent days with the insistence that the State has the right under the puissant guidance and wisdom of the Commander in Chief G.W. Bush, to inflict a nuclear pre-emptive attack against any enemy groups or countries - even on the suspicion of malevolent intentions that he deems to be a threat to the "Homeland".

So, when I raise your ire by saying that no one should dare be concerned about the rights of these people to live, this is just one of the many reasons I have for preaching to their demise.

Four Years and the Terrorists Continue to Occupy America

A 100 Year War?? The Scum Are at it Again.

If this is accurate, Hurricane Katrina and related issues are being used as a smokescreen for the invasion of Venezuela.

I am greatly inclined to believe what the Venezuelan and Russian analysts have to say on this matter, more than, any of the main stream media in America.

See what you think.

United States warships turn towards Venezuela as US military takes control of Hurricane devastated regions; Venezuela's Hugo Chavez Frias vows '100-year war'

Russian journalist Sorcha Faal writes: Russian Military Analysts are reporting today that a 'significant' portion of the US Navy Armada that had been heading towards their country's devastated southern regions have turned towards South America.

Reports state a planned Invasion of Venezuela to overthrow its President and reassert 'control' over Venezuela's vast oil reserves.

The Venezuelan President having been notified of this most troubling development has ordered his military forces to be on top alert and has 'vowed' a 100-year war against the military leaders of the United States..

As
reported by the Miami Herald News Service in an article entitled "Chavez: US, NATO planning an attack": "Venezuela has uncovered plans for a NATO US-led invasion and is preparing to defend the country against invading forces if necessary, President Hugo Chavez said ''we discovered, through intelligence work, a military exercise that NATO has for an invasion against Venezuela ... and we are preparing ourselves for that invasion.''

Why I Support Socialism: The Ultimate Democracy

Hurricane Katrina’s aftermath: from natural disaster to national humiliation

Statement of the World Socialist Web Site Editorial Board
2 September 2005

The catastrophe that is unfolding in New Orleans and on the Gulf coast of Mississippi has been transformed into a national humiliation without parallel in the history of the United States.

The scenes of intense human suffering, hopelessness, squalor, and neglect amidst the wreckage of what was once New Orleans have exposed the rotten core of American capitalist society before the eyes of the entire world—and, most significantly, before those of its own stunned people.

The reactionary mythology of America as the “Greatest Country in the World” has suffered a shattering blow.

Hurricane Katrina has laid bare the awful truths of contemporary America—a country torn by the most intense class divisions, ruled by a corrupt plutocracy that possesses no sense either of social reality or public responsibility, in which millions of its citizens are deemed expendable and cannot depend on any social safety net or public assistance if disaster, in whatever form, strikes.

Washington’s response to this human tragedy has been one of gross incompetence and criminal indifference. People have been left to literally die in the streets of a major American city without any assistance for four days. Images of suffering and degradation that resemble the conditions in the most impoverished Third World countries are broadcast daily with virtually no visible response from the government of a country that concentrates the greatest share of wealth in the world.

The storm that breached the levees of New Orleans has also revealed all of the horrific implications of 25 years’ worth of uninterrupted social and political reaction. The real results of the destruction of essential social services, the dismantling of government agencies entrusted with alleviating poverty and coping with disasters, and the ceaseless nostrums about the “free market” magically resolving the problems of modern society have been exposed before millions.

With at least 100,000 people trapped in a city without power, water or food and threatened with the spread of disease and death, the government has proven incapable of establishing the most elementary framework of logistical organization. It has failed to even evacuate the critically ill from public hospitals, much less provide basic medical assistance to the many thousands placed in harm’s way by the disaster.

What was the government’s response to the natural catastrophe that threatened New Orleans? It amounted to betting that the storm would go the other way, followed by a policy of “every man for himself.” Residents of the city were told to evacuate, while the tens of thousands without transportation or too poor to travel were left to their fate.

Now crowds of thousands of hungry and homeless people have been reduced to chanting “we need help” as bodies accumulate in the streets. Washington’s inability to mount and coordinate basic rescue operations will unquestionably add to a death toll that is already estimated in the thousands.

The government’s callous disregard for the human suffering, its negligence in failing to prepare for this disaster and, above all, its utter incompetence have staggered even the compliant American media.

Why I will not donate to Katrina relief, I wish I could

Thank you, Canucklehead!!

I watched with sympathy the reports of tens of thousands of people trapped in New Orleans. My sympathy became mixed with disgust at how the media was characterizing whites scrounging in grocery stores as “just trying to survive” while at the same time characterizing blacks doing exactly the same thing as “thugs and looters”. My disgust turned to outrage as I watched video of helicopters evacuating ambulatory white people that could afford private hospital care while directly across the street, blacks in dire condition in stretchers at a charity hospital looked on – with FEMA giving the excuse that “the neighborhood around the charity hospital was too dangerous.” These people were staring directly at one another across a single street, rooftop to rooftop! This is naked racism and class warfare!

I watched with incredulity as the head of FEMA, on CNN, said that he didn’t know about the plight of the people at the superdome and convention centre. Everyone around the world was aware of their plight for DAYS and, unlike FEMA, we are not the FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ADMINISTRATION.

In the face of this obviously uncaring (at best) attitude of those that are supposedly in charge that I felt an almost overwhelming need to help - to donate something to help the tens of thousands of people who had lost everything. I donated to the Tsunami relief effort and I was prepared to donate to this as well.

What changed my mind? Well, the news is reporting that a fair number of Canadians are not planning on donating. Reasons expressed range from softwood lumber disputes to saying the US is rich and doesn’t need any help. None of those reasons would have stopped me from donating.

Trade disputes are important in their own way but rank very, very low compared to human life and human suffering. No, while I am angry at the US for their dishonest trade practices, that would not stop me from helping, not even for a moment.

The US is indeed a rich country, but so is Canada. By donating I could help offset some of the economic chaos that this disaster is sure to precipitate on the American people. In a way, that would also be helping myself as economic trouble in the USA also spells economic trouble for Canada. No, being a rich country doesn’t mean that donating would be of no benefit.

When the USA destroyed Fallujah, murdering thousands of innocent civilians and leaving tens of thousands homeless, they also bombed occupied hospitals, shot and killed ambulance drivers, and imprisoned hundreds without charge, where was the sympathy? Where were the donation drives to help those people that USA had murdered, maimed, left homeless and without any basic necessities like water, food, and medical care? Where was the outrage from the American people that its troops were killing doctors? Where is the outrage against the Bush administration for its crimes against humanity in using imprisonment without charge, torture and carrying out assaults on civilian populations? Where is the outrage against the US government over the targeting and murder of reporters?

Why, when they had the chance to NOT elect Bush, did only ¼ of the eligible voters of America vote against Bush? That means that ¾ of the eligible votes in the United States either actively or passively gave permission to Bush to keep on invading countries in order to steal their resources. It legitimized the use of murder, torture, and terror by the America government. Some people may not donate because the people of the USA don’t deserve help. That is still not my reason for not donating.

Yes, Bush is a monster, on par with Mussolini and Pinochet, but the American people are just people, identical to you and I. They do not deserve to suffer for the past actions of their elected leaders.

My reason is what the Bush administration will be able to do because of the money I donate. Every dollar I send would be money the US government does not have to spend to help its own people. The money they save will be used to murder more Iraqis. It will be used to attack Iran. It will be used to fund the manipulation of our very atmosphere under HAARP. It will be used to put nuclear weapons in space in order to blackmail the rest of the world into following its orders.

I feel horrible for the people affected by the hurricane and I wish I could help, I will not donate because every dime I save the US government will be used to kill, murder, torture, terrorize, and blackmail and I will not have that on my conscience.

Hurricane Katrina

Liberal Patriots ask that people donate to reputable charities and call on fellow union members to sign-up to heed the call for fulfilling labor shortages during the reconstruction of the devastated areas.

Americares is my charity of choice as, the Red Cross, became more irreputable post 9-11. Their true colors were shown during World War II when soldiers were required to pay for donations.
